In June 2018 I traveled to Belize as an American-born, English-speaking, doctoral student with the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology to research aspects of a developing country in regards to education, economics, and global leadership.
Belize is home to a very functional democracy, with great emphasis on order, education, and the inclusion of all social classes in one democratic process. The country is a good example to its regional neighbors, able to carry out peaceful, cooperative elections, with a strong emphasis on participation.
Access to quality healthcare plays a critical role in the economic growth of developing countries. The growing field of mobile technology in healthcare, known as mHealth, has potential for enhancing the healthcare delivery systems of these emerging markets.
